New York Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand have announced that the Williamson-Sodus Airport has been awarded a Grant to repave our runway. The funds come from an Economic Recovery Project Grant to rehabilitate and repave runway 10-28. The total amount of the grant will be $438,600.00
The project has already been sent out to bid and the winning bid was submitted by Babcock Enterprises, Ltd of Dansville, NY.
The project calls for the runway to have 1″ milled off the top, and 2″ of new asphalt put back down. The project will take about a week to do, which will require that the runway be closed. Construction will begin on or around May 18th and will take a week to ten days.
During this time, the runway will be closed.
